When a campaign matches your vehicle type and routes, we contact you with an offer. You always approve the ad before anything goes on your vehicle. We then send you the OBD tracker to plug in yourself — it takes under 5 minutes — and once fitted, your vehicle is wrap ready.

How tracking works

Always-on OBD tracking. No app required.

Every Back Door Ads vehicle is fitted with a small OBD tracking device at the same time as the vinyl wrap. It plugs into your car's diagnostic port, runs off the vehicle's own power, and logs every kilometre automatically. You never need to open an app or remember to start a session.

Most standard vehicle policies permit advertising wraps. You should inform your insurer — in most cases there is no additional premium. We provide a letter of confirmation you can share with them.
Yes, always. You approve every campaign before your vehicle is enrolled. If a brand is not one you want on your vehicle, simply decline and we find the next match. You are never required to carry any specific ad.
Back Door Ads arranges professional vinyl application at a time convenient to you. Removal at campaign end is also handled by us at no cost. Quality vinyl leaves no residue on paintwork when correctly removed.
Absolutely. Individual car owners are a core part of the Back Door Ads fleet. Many advertisers actively want suburban and residential route coverage that individual cars provide well. Start with one vehicle and add more later if you want to.
Earnings only accrue when an active campaign is assigned to your vehicle. We give you advance notice of campaign start and end dates so you know what to expect each month.
The OBD device plugs into the diagnostic port found under the dashboard of every car made after 2001. It draws power from the vehicle and logs GPS position, speed and distance whenever the engine is running. Data is transmitted via a built-in SIM and verified on our servers. You can review all tracked journeys in your dashboard at any time. Individual journey data is never shared with advertisers.
Earnings are calculated from your verified mileage and paid directly to your bank account by the 15th of each month. You can track accrued earnings in real time through the app.
Yes. You can pause or deactivate your vehicle at any time from your dashboard. If a campaign is active, we ask for reasonable notice so the advertiser can be notified. There are no penalties for leaving.
